Maybe I’m getting old, but I don’t find satire very funny. Originally a device to speak your voice in fear of punishment, it seems inefficient in a world where you can say anything you want. Reality is most likely more interesting than your satirical take on it anyway.
A genuine story written about life in a small town is better than some article mocking it. Because, let’s face it – that joke isn’t funny anymore. No one’s life is a punch line.
